Me: you have a shuttle service?
Dealership: Yes, we can bring you right back to your office!
Me: ok, I'll be right there!
20 minutes later at dealership...
Me: I need a shuttle ride back to my office, please.
Service tech: we just sent the shuttle driver to get an emissions test, they'll be back in an hour.

Might be more than an hour....I think it may fail the emissions test.
All joking aside, that sucks. Hopefully they have a good Wifi signal and speed with a quiet area.

That's because it's antiquated bordering on obsolete. I worked for a national retailer in customer service. They seemed to get it. In the training manual it actually said "it is our policy accomodate the guest whenever possible. If you believe a return is in order, find a way to make it happen." Considering my experience prior to that, I was stunned.

Surely someone could shuttle you back in one of the literally hundreds of cars at the dealership? It would be a potential business opportunity to show you a new car to boot.

I had a similar situation with BMW recently. My check engine light came on and I had no idea what it was. So I am still under warranty and I am guaranteed a loaner car when I come in.
Service: Sorry, we don't have a car for you
Me: So, what would you like me to do?
Service: We will look for one if you can wait. Can someone come get you?
Me: I just moved here, no.
Service: What is it that you need to do today?
Me: Whatever I want? I am told I am guaranteed a car based on my package
Service: Please go wait in the lobby, we will get you a car
Me walks off to get coffee and a newspaper
Service comes in later: What if we shuttle you to work?
Me: That'll work...I suppose....
Service: Ok, I will be right back...
20m later
Service: Oh, we found you a loaner! *Points at a black car that had been parked next to my car the whole time*
